Goya, avant-garde genius

| exhibition |

Around a hundred works by Goya, never before assembled, are exhibited under the vaults of the Jacobins Church in Agen.

Five themes emerge which are isolated in five dedicated rooms completed by a projection room.

Thus, the artist’s portraits and self-portraits, works on everyday life and war scenes, the Majas are staged in a hanging that confronts, associates or opposes them.

The choice of enclosed, covered and split spaces allow, in addition to securing and conserving the works, to choose varying points of view and setting apart between the building, the rooms and the works between them. The play of vanishing points in the rooms, the fact of accumulating or isolating certain works are all accepted choices that punctuate the course.
