Jean Duvernoy Historic Center

| MUSEUM DESIGN |

The Historic Center takes place in the heart of the village of Montaillou and offers free visits to the many hikers who roam the region.
The political will to highlight the village and its castle, its Cathar history and the results of the excavations carried out on the castle site have led to a mixed collaboration between historians, archaeologists and curators.

The first part deals with the great history of Catharism and the second describes the village, the castle and the way of life of the inhabitants.

The scenography is deliberately sober and it fades in favor of a strong graphic treatment in the space, thematic windows and a large detailed model of the site.
