To highlight the transition from the Latin Quarter to the new entertainment district in Montreal, known as the Quartier des Spectacles, Just for Laughs was staged in both.
The scenographic challenge lay in making the event sufficiently visible in two topographically opposed districts of the city.
The option chosen was to hold a major event on Place des Festivals while smaller-scale performances were maintained in the Latin Quarter.
Facilities had to be deployed on both sites simultaneously and new urban signage had to be designed for the newly emerging Quartier des Spectacles.
